I decided to replace my single steering column mount DiPricol fuel pressure gauge with an ISSPRO EV mechanical fuel pressure and electrical oil pressure gauges. The DiPricol fuel pressure gauge worked fine, but I wanted a "real" oil pressure gauge and liked the looks of the EV line.

For the fuel pressure gauge, I just disconnected the old gauge and reused the DiPricol isolator. Readings are same before and after in all conditions.

For the oil pressure gauge, I ran 4 feet of -4 AN stainless braided line from the top of the oil filter mount (Thanks rbattelle for the advice!) to the sender, which I mounted on the firewall lip. The gauge amp box was mounted on the inner firewall next to the steering column with velcro.

Here are some pics of a cold idle, warm start, hot idle day view, and hot idle night view to compare readings of the factory dummy gauge to the ISSPRO gauge. The night picture didn't come out right, but the gauges do look like the night picture on the dieselmanor.com site.

Thanks for the links but I already looked there and didn't see a red pointer oil pressure gauge anywhere... maybe I just missed it.

I know my picture doesn't show it, but I do have the red pointer that matches the factory gauges. Couldn't tell you the part number right now as my receipts are elsewhere, but it is the EV oil pressure gauge. When I get home tonight I'll look up the part number for you, if someone hasn't done so already.

So you're saying this:

#ad

isn't really a blue needle? Or is it just blue in the daylight and red at night? That would be weird. . since the EGT/boost/etc EV gauges I've seen are red in the daylight... hmmmmm... sorry not trying to start something here, just want to make sure when I order my gauges they all match! :)

The above is true, but the red doesn't look as "dark" as the red pointer shown on the night pictures on the dieselmanor site. Sorry for any confusion! I'm color blind with red/green as well as with really close color shades so I don't get too excited about exact color matches. What you call a blue pointer looks basically white (or severely pale blue) to me.

any pics of where you mounted the amplifier boxes for the ISSPROs??

Just mount them under the driver's side knee bolster (below the steering wheel). There's lots of metal brackets back there for mounting stuff...

Looks good, Jstieger!!

Looks like the factory guage was closer than I thought it would be for oil pressure!

Exactly what I was thinking, one of these days I am going to hook up a mechanical gauge to the filter head and see how close they really are!!

Do you have a part # or link to the oil pressure gauge with red needle like the EGT/trans/boost gauges in the links above?

From my receipt:

oil pressure gauge ISSPRO R6721 (electrical gauge) $68. 95

fuel pressure gauge ISSPRO R6704 (mechanical gauge) $39. 95

These are for the "EV gauges with white dial, blue pointer, and blue backlighting". Blue pointer turns red at night.

Hope this helps!

Why bother, it means nothing and has no relationship.

  • 0 to 5 lbs true pressure = 0 on the factory gauge
  • 6 lbs and up = what ever the ECM thinks that needle should be based on RPM and Coolant Temp.

There is no variable pressure sensing device on the motor, just a switch that closes at 6 lbs. so if you have lost oil pressure for some reason and are down to 7 lbs your factory needle will read normal.

I was just looking back at some old posts and came across this one. I want to make clear to anyone that's interested in purchasing the ISSPRO White dial, chrome bezel, blue pointer (marine series gauges), that the pointer lights up blue, not red. Both the numerals and pointer light up blue when the gauges are illuminated at night.

This is in response to:
