I purchased a new EV oil temp (100-280*) gauge (R5659R). Bought the gauge from DIS via the internet, as I did with the others. Swapping out another new Isspro R9055 (140-320*) gauge.

Just got the new gauge today, and noticed that the wiring harness may be too short. If need be, will it throw it off to add wire, of the same gauge, to the sensor wires on the driving circuit box end? Would be 2 wires instead of the 4 that go to the gauge. I would like to keep the box in the cab away from heat and moisture to help prevent corrosion.

TIA.

Thanks, I pretty much figured that, but wanted to make sure. Given the length of the harness, I'm kinda suprised that it doesn't include an extention wire in the kit, or at least have it long enough and cut off excess. To short to reach for most apps. I would think.

FYI... The New EV EGT Temp Gauges don't need the HighTemp wire between the Thermocouple and the Amplifier Box... ... . So save yourself $10+ Dollars and just use some good quality 16 0r 18 gauge stranded automotive wire. Kurt

Thanks for the info, but my EGT gauge isn't a EV. Just my boost and the new transmission gauge.

Wonder why they are using the box instead of using a regular sender like the gauge I'm taking out. They work too.

With the standard Pyro Head inside the gauge there isn't room for true backlighting. Kurt

Finally got the transmission temp. gauge installed a couple of days ago. Working great. With exception to the backlighting, it was kind of annoying to have to completely rewire for the EV.
