06/2004 ecu/ecm. Wiring issues????

Dorman Oil Drain Tube Kit 904-346 Caution

I have a Isspro gage wired in and just installed the banjo bolt and hooked up the hose and sending unit. My question is there was a funny looking plastic plug inside and between the two fittings on the sending unit end of the hose. The plug does not have a hole in it, but it does have a small grove in the small end. I don't think this is meant to be installed as it looks to me like it would block the fuel pressure from reaching the sending unit. But I am wondering why it was inside the two fittings. I cant call anyone at Genos today seeing it is a Sunday. I have everything hooked up and ready to test run for leaks, but need to verify if this plastic piece has some purpose. See photos of set up and small plastic piece. Can anyone tell me if this plastic part needs to be in there?

Install as far away from the injection pump...
Well it seems someone didn't read the instructions here.

I had a question for some plumbing and wiring for my gauge, Do I need a snubber valve if I'm using a port on an aftermarket lift pump? Fass 95 for reference.

You don't need a snubber with vane pumps, there isn't a surge there like the reciprocating type pumps.
