Aftermarket gauge options are plentiful. Looking for first hand performance info on the ISSPRO STD and EV series (EGT, TB, Trans TEMP). Will install into A-pillar Tripod. install issues would be beneficial too.

tks,

Isspro EV

i've got the isspro ev's in my 01. 5, in the A-pillar. i have another brand transmission temp gauge under the dash. i put in boost, fuel pressure, and EGT, with pre and post turbo probes, and a switch to switch between the probes. love 'em. see https://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/displayimage.php?&photoid=552&width=1, for a not very good pic of the gauges. install was pretty seamless. just time consuming, as i did it by myself. since the pic, i went back and put red bulbs in the FP and boost gauges. easier on the eyes at night, and i wasn't set on them looking like the dash gauges. ;)

Redneckdr,

I've got a set of EVs and the dash mount in the mail from Rod at Wildcat Diesel Performance. www.wildcatdiesel.com

I'm curious abot the red bulb covers.

Where did you find them?

I wonder if they would help keep down the glare others have posted about the dash mount?

I would strongly suggest the EV model. I had the standard type, and found them almost invisible at night. The EV's are perfect with lighting.

Bulb covers, in many colors, are available directly from Isspro.

bulbs

shove, the BOMB is quite easy... ... ... go to your friendly local parts store and buy 194 bulbs in whatever color you want, and change out the bulbs. i left the EGT alone--bulbs are T5's i think, plus the EGT gauge is "colorcoded". the bulbs in the FP and boost gauges are 194's. red is the nicest color for night vision. my memory is that that is the color of the gauges in planes--been awhile since i flew a plane.

i bought my bulbs at Auto Zone. they had blue, green, and red when i bought mine.

Thanks Redneckdr.

A trip to the local "Trash-Auto" will be on the schedule for tonight.

I didn't opt for the "color-coded" EGT.

I've always set my gauges so "normal" is 12 o'clock, anything past that is uh-oh time.

EGT

shove, i dunno what bulb you have in your EGT, then. if i were guessing, i'd guess T5's (2), anyway. i didn't find any colored T5's. since i elected not to replace the bulbs in the EGT, anyway, didn't matter.
