First time poster.

i have been looking to get some gauges for the truck. i've been reading and everyone says to do the gauges before any other mods so that what i want to do. www.dieselmanor.com has some kits that come with the a-pillar, all three gauges and all the wires. my question is it worth the extra $130 for the Dirpricol so that they match the dodge cluster needles exactly? for the guys that have them, how is the back light on either one? on the site they only seem to have the ISSPRO at night and not the Dipricol.

thanks in advance

My Di-Pricol guages look awesome. As for the lighting, the transmission temp light gives off the most light and my FP, EGT and Boost aren't as bright, but they do the job. I think you'd be happy with either one.

I believe both brands are made in India, by possibly the same manufacturer. Just some cosmetic differences. Both are mechanical for boost, and stepper motor for pyro.

The isspro boost was too bright, and after much searching I replaced the bulb with a # 161.

The Dipricol have LED lighting.

I have the Isspro boost and egt and am very happy with the look during the day and the illumination at night. I also have the DiProcol fuel pressure gauge and am happy with the look during the day but the illumination at night is not so good. However, I will not replace the DiProcol due to this difference.

I purchased the Isspros (about a year ago) because at the time the lighting on the DiPricols was a mess. Each gauge had a different brightness, and the center of the EGT was a frosted white. Not good looking IMO.

I have the Isspro EV's, and the performance is great. The lighting is almost the same on all three gauges.

If I had to purchase today, I'd get the DiPricol Optix. They are LED lighted, and you can get individual dimmers to match your gauges to the dash. Pretty sweet.

I agree with Marks differences, but it should be noted the DiPricols needles are not lit like the factory guages, and there is quite a bit of light leekage on the turbo guage.

I have the DiPricols in the mount that goes where the storage pocket is in the 2003 interiors. I like the guages but have found them difficult to read where they are mounted during twilight. That would be the time where you need lights but don't really need lights. In the dark I can read them fine as well as daylight. It's just that in between time... . Just my . 02. I have a set of oil pressure and temp guages to go in using the overhead mount. I bought Autometer for that.

I have not been pleased how Diprocal handles problems with their product. The answer I always get is sorry they are over a year old, buy some more gauges.

On the other hand in dealing with Autometer they dont have any problems making their customer happy, uasually with a new gauge or fix for free. They just dont have any that match, so thats why I had to go to diprocal.

I just swapped out my DiPricol EGT gauge with an Isspro due to the poor lighting. If I had to do it over I'd get the Isspro's.

I've got the Isspro's and they are a great set of gauges. Mine are installed in the a-pillar - Fuel Press, EGT, and Boost. The lighting is fairly balance across the board between them and they look good with the stock instruments. I had the opportunity to see both the DiProcol and the Isspro's installed in other trucks and also their lighting.

I have the ISSPRO EGT, Boost, transmission Temp... They match well, have worked flawlessly, and look cool! I'm happy with them. I think the main concern is to have guages so you can tell how your truck is performing... . splitting hairs between any of the latest guage offerings probably doesnt net that much of a difference. Good luck and congrats on taking the first step! :)

Can I ask a question about the guage install article from Issue 52? In the footnotes of the article they make mention that they (Genos?) would recommend not painting the dash mount enclosure. Why would that be? My dash is the medium grey and I think black would stand out like a sore thumb... any ideas?
