I'm looking to put in the gauges this week, where do I hook the power up to? Fuse box inside the engine or inside the cab?

Thanks, Michael

Michael.

I have the same gauge. I mounted the box inside the cab and got power from my painless wiring circuit. If I didn't have the painless wiring kit, I would have gone to the fuse panel inside and jumped one of the blocks for power. Get your power for the lights from the dash light fuse. Then they will dim with your dash lights.

I'd get a blade connector (male end) and place it in one of the unused hot terminals that are in the fuse panel inside the truck. You can test to see which one turns power on when you desire, or if it is dimmed. My gauges are illuminated all the time when the truck is on. If you use this method, you'll have to add an inline fuse. If you piggyback of an existing fuse, you'll be protected under it. Just be sure to tap off the side of the fuse that is protected.

Hey just put my Isspro's in this weekend. I taped off the cig lighter. it is easy if you take the center cubby out and feel behind for the upper one. Easy and your wires will reach w/o extension.

Just finished my gauges last night. I got a connector at the parts store that plugs into an exitsing fuse (take fuse out, put connector in it's place) then on the connector you have a place for the original fuse, but it also gives you a second fues slot for a lead that is on the connector itself. sing these, I took power for the amp from a "spare" (I think it was 16) fuse slot, and the power for the light form the Ilum slot (#5 I think).

This way I didn't add load to any existing fused circiuts and the new ones are fuse protected as well.
