I've noticed a weird problem with my Isspro transmission temp gauge. The temps seem to fluctuate pretty wildly, and sometimes they will peg off the scale towards hot. I've checked the transmission pan with an infared temp gun, so I'm sure the gauge is acting up and not the transmission.

It sounds to me like I've either got a bad connection that's increasing the resistance, or I've got an intermittent short to ground. I don't know which way the gauge functions though. Could someone shed some light on this for me?

I've had this exact problem with my Isspro oil pressure gauge. The people at Isspro are exceptionally responsive, and I went through 3 or 4 different gauges with them trying to fix the problem.

It was a problem with the sending unit, and it took a long time to figure it out. But the transmission temperature gauge should be using an RTD probe, which I would expect to be almost infinitely robust.

That leads me to believe you've got a bad ground or bad short. How is it connected to the vehicle electrical system?

If you determine that your wiring is good (if you have any of those plastic tee-taps, your wiring is no good), then I'd encourage you to contact Isspro and explain the problem to them.

I have the same problem. Anyone have this issue and find a fix. I have a replacement unit which I'm getting ready to switch to. Would like to know

what others have discovered before I make the switch.

Thanks,Mike

Well almost back to square one. Changed out the amplifier and

sensor. Started the Truck, waited for the temp to heat up and before you could spell TDR backwards it started its erratic behavior. Settled down after awhile and seemed to read correct Temp. It still has its moments.

Anyone have any Ideas.

Thanks,Mike
