TDR 118 is on its way to you!
It is not often that TDR members receive their magazine prior to the office staff, but it happened this week.
Wow, member comments and we don’t know what has been written. So, we had the printer send some copies to us via Next Day service.
Here is what we found in the mail package:
The 2023 Turbo Diesel Register Calendar! Hey, it has arrived 60 days prior to the new year, giving you plenty of time to start scribbling-in those key dates.
You can thank us later.
What else will you find in the TDR #118 mail package?
We crank up the “wayback machine” and have Kevin Cameron talking about tires. Other tire-related content: Tracy Martin talks about TPMS and James Langan does an evaluation on tires from Mickey Thompson. And in the regular quarterly columns you’ll find the following:
- Backfire: A recap of the 2019-2020 Cummins engine and the CP4 fuel pump.
- 10 Back: My review of Issue 78 prompts me to do a quiz that challenges your recall from the book about Cummins that was published in 2011, Red, Black and Global. Have fun!
- Generations: Greg Whale captures the best problems/solutions from the correspondence at the TDR’s website. Hey, guys, we need more chatter and/or your articles on those older trucks. Seriously, send in those stories on the older First and Second Generation trucks.
- Technical Topics: This “TT” was interesting to research. The topic is event data recorders. Did you know that Chrysler vehicles have had this “Big Brother” technology since October 2009? What does this mean to you? Who owns the data? Did Tiger Woods own the data when he had the bad accident in February 2021?
- Blowin’ in the Wind: Bob Dylan sez: “For the times they are a-changin’” and there are several pages on the electrifying subject of electric vehicle battery capacity. Also, the EPA has been busy imposing penalties on violators of the clean air act.
- Ready to Travel: We follow Stan Gozzi on a cross-country adventure.
- Ranch Dressing: John Holmes has been watching the news for those topics of interest to Ram owners and followers of the Chrysler brands of vehicles. Check his column for the latest updates.
- Polly’s Pickup: Polly Holmes gives us some winter driving tips and lets us know that Cummins Inc. has a new CEO.
- Have Ram, Will Travel: Joe Donnelly takes a look at brake fluid and differential temperatures with different lube oils.
- The Long Haul: At this stage in your life, you’ve got your garage or shop all set up for your needs. But there is always something to be learned when visiting others. In his column, Moses Ludel gives us a tour of his facility.
- TDRV: Doug Leno covers the basics of trailer winterization.
- From the Shop Floor: Scott Sinkinson discovers a new service tool, “Jump-a-Fuse.”
I’m hopeful you’ll enjoy Issue 118 of the TDR.
As always, thank you for your support.
