Yep, TDR 121 has been released for download at the website and delivered to the postal service for delivery to your mailbox. Let’s give the postal service the typical 7-10 days for actual delivery to your mailbox.

What’s new for the summertime?

First and foremost: Page 4 has the 2024 Calendar Contest announcement. (It’s not like we haven’t been talking about this since May, correct?) So, get those photographs in before 9/4/2023.

For this issue we asked the writers to talk about their “favorite things.” Each column has a brief story about those “can’t live without” truck accessories.

Also in Issue 121:
  • Letters that make you smile.
  • A look 10 years ago with updates bringing you up to 2023.
  • Review of the book Faster, Higher, Farther the VW Scandal.
  • Factory recalls and updates.
  • All of the “Generations” problems and fixes that are summarized from the TDR’s website.
  • Industry News: More emissions and battery stuff.
  • The editor travels to another Mecum auction.
  • Donnelly and Gozzi tackle the “hot nut” problem.
  • Dalgleish purchases a new EcoDiesel and starts purchasing accessories.
  • Langan tests out a new set of tires and cures a vibration problem.
  • Ludel tells the audience how to adjust the bands on the 47/48 series transmissions.

That’s all. I’m hopeful you’ll enjoy TDR 121.
As always, thanks for your support of the TDR.

I liked Joe Donnelly's Part Two discussion of his journey with his 6.7 grid heater nut. I checked the nut on my '16 3500 today and it was solid. How can I contact him about the battery insulating covers shown in his photos (page 77)? My truck has flimsy recycled material for covers, and I would like to get covers like his.

JK, we looked at Joe's pictures and the battery covers that he has on his truck look like factory covers that are also on our 2020 truck. (Usually, once the batteries are replaced, the covers end up in the trash.) TDR Staff
