What’s new this fall season? Issue #126 is in the mail to you!

Yes, TDR 126 has been delivered to the postal service for delivery to your mailbox. Let’s give the postal service the typical 7-10 days for actual delivery to your mailbox.

The fun stuff: Your 2025 TDR calendar is included in the shrink wrap of the magazine. So, we’re ahead of all those others that you’ll be receiving. From all of us here at the TDR, we’re hopeful the TDR calendar finds a prominent place in your office.

Also in Issue 126

Groundhog Day: Yep, I just had the opportunity to watch the movie, again. Likewise, no doubt you are tired of the three subjects I would like to not have to discuss: lube oil, tires, and ceramic coatings.

However, there is a new American Petroleum Institute (API) category/specification change due in 2027. It is called Proposed Category-12. So, yes, in this issue you’ll have to be bored with another lube oil story. Check It out on pages 36-39.

Another “However,” James Langan had the opportunity to try out the 17” version of the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires. You’ll find his report on pages 82-89.

Final “However,” ceramic coatings: It looks like the readership has dodged that bullet in this issue.

Seriously, In This Issue

In this issue:

The editor-dude polishes the paint on an old car and now the light hue of the primer coat is starting to show thru the paint. Hindsight has 20/20 vision. Perhaps he should have used a paint thickness gauge prior to polishing. By the way, how much paint do you have to work with when you are polishing? Details on pages 10-13.

TDR members debate the best thermostat, pages 46-47.

As Ram owners, it is difficult to watch Ram trucks lose market share as they introduce the 1500 series truck for model year 2025. However, it is exciting to see the new features these trucks bring to market. Andy Mikonis and Greg Whale share two 1500 truck reviews with us.

More from the new column “Turbo Diesel Doctor” as Flash Gordon gives us the part-two story on weight loss, pages 64-66.

Kevin Cameron is back with a look at energy and the big picture with “Synthetic Hydrocarbons,” pages 110-111.

As always, thank you for your support of the TDR.
