Here it comes

What kind of tires do you guys prefer?

Ok the article on Twins was very interesting until I read the "Pulling Your Weight" on page 94 which states.....

"... I pulled a 7,470-pound trailer... ... ... . on a 408 mile trip. I found I was able to maintain 77 mph at 1. 650 rpm in double overdrive. Our EGT's held steady between 550 and 638 on level ground and we averaged 18. 7 mpg. "

Is there anybody else that thinks this is a typo?????

Probably not. I got 19. 6 (almost stock truck) towing a 4000 lbs boat/trailer on a 900 mile round trip with some mountain passes. EZ on level 3 all the time. My egt's did get around 1200 on several occassions. My truck never did this well on fuel until I had a flash done to correct white smoke at start up and then it also got better with the EZ. I know I'll cause some folks to throw the B. S. flag on me but I drive to Anchorage, Alaska several times a year and in the summer time I've gotten over 25 mpg consistently and once managed 28. 4 mpg. IT CAN BE DONE. :)

Well, with that low of and RPM and EGT reading, and a double overdrive. I would imagine it is possible. Those overdrive units are expensive, and take a long time to pay for themselves.
