Be glad that none of us own this beauty.

I think the only 2 things keeping it from collapsing on the shop floor are the cylinder head and oil pan!!!

Pictures #1 and #2 are drivers side of engine

Picture #3 is the passenger side.

Ohhh, that one died hard! In all the years I was around trucks, I've only seen one Cummins do something similar. It spun/stacked a rod insert, broke the connecting rod, and knocked a big hole on both sides of the block.

That JB Weld is great stuff, isn't it... ... :-laf

We also stock Weld Beautifier (Black Undercoating) here at our facility... :)

I am going to get the autopsy report at lunch time.

The crank still looks fairly smooth but no sign of the rod at all.

It is pretty rare to see damage to this extent, sure caught my eye on the way to the Recon bay.

I bet that driver had to do an underwear change while waiting for the hook to get there. Should have been quite violent with the noise, 50lbs of flying iron and 10 gallons of oil suddenly headed into the atmosphere... :-laf

Light Weight and Air Cooled Crankcase. Saves Fuel, runs on 4 cylinders but looks like a 6 cylinder to impress fellow drivers... ... . :-laf:-laf

Just so ya'll know. . thats NOT a rotating assembly failure. . Its not rod failure, crank failure, or even piston failure. .

That is a clear cut case of cylinder block failure. Cut and dried!!!.

That cylinder block CLEARLY failed to contain all those broken parts!!! hahaha

I've seen damage like that before. Our shop said wrist pin failure. It was on a higher mileage motor that the shop had just done an overhead on. You could see right through the block after they took the piston rod out. It doesn't look like there's much of that one though.

What cylinder was that on? Do you know how many miles it had on it before it let go?

hahaha... . ITs all in good fun... nothing personal...

I just always read about how you put amsoil in one time and forget about it... Thought a little metal and some coolant shouldnt hurt it. .

I'm just jokin around Amsoil deciples... don't burn me down for this!!
