it wasn't even painful or slow, just a few sputters and it went from running really good on a cool evening to dead. Cummins Atlantic opened up the oil filter and found metal . I said no need to go any further. I was hauling my tractors back from a pull traveling about 45mph and then nothing buts sputters . cut it off and now it sits at only 258k . not happy with it. tractors and trailer 18k truck 7. 5k. hope yours go further . that's one more to my list of cummins that didn't make 300k and at first I thought it was a freak thing. Just came up a good grade in drive at 2500 rpm 20miles before pulled really good.

haven't opened it up yet , but the metal in the oil filter was magnetic . so it could be a cam or cylinder wall or the like.

didn't notice the egt getting to high and I was only going about 45 mph went it went bad . I had it floored on a hill 20 miles earlier in 3rd about 2500 rpm . ran great up to the point where it started running real rough.
