Cleaning trailer exterior

the afternoon wind caught the TT awning (18') and redesigned one of the supports. I have returned the metalwork to a straight condition but the awning does not roll up squarely. all brackets are tight and I see no damage on the TT itself.

the upright supports are about 3 inches aft of the upper mounting brackets when it's rolled up. I was able to get it locked for travel but now have to address the abnormality.

If all the metalwork is square and straight could the problem be that the canvas has shifted in the channel pulling everything out of alignment when it's rolling up?

your thoughts would be appreciated.

Chances are the material is moving in the channel ... . mine does it and it drives me crazy!

do you just recenter the canvas and voila?

Yep ... that's what I do ... .

read somewhere that some awnings have keepers that screw through the edge of the canvas to keep it from sliding. something you might check into if this happens often.

thanks...

Awning off track

If it helps - My A&E has 2 screws through the spline on the trailer part and the roller end has extra long splines that are pinched or held in place by the end caps.

It seems to me that if all the hardware is straight then it has to be the fabric and maybe the spline got cut or the screws backed out and allow the fabric to shift in the tracks.
