My truck won't start. It happen before, pumped the tranfer pump several times and it started right up. This time it didn't start. Yes it has fuel. No leaks on the ground. What could it be. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.
Crack an injector line and see if you can get fuel out of it while cranking. If you have a drian back problem you migh have to crack 3 lines to get it to fire. So many things it could be.
Geled fuel ? , id cut the fuel line and get rid of those plastic disconnects cause small air leaks , i still need to do the ones at the tank on mine , did you try some wd 40 or unplug the grid heater if you try starting fluid
Unless some serious crustal displacemnet occured lately I highly doubt gelled fuel in San Diego CA is the cause. Likely all the lines, including the fuel heater, could be the culprit.
Could be that you have a lift pump that Died but unless you in a cold area it's not gelled fuel Maybe take the intake pipe off and hit it with a shot of WD40 maybe you just have some Air in the Lines ?
When my lift pump died, it died a VERY slow death. Left me a couple of times before I finally replaced it. I took it apart and the rubber "check valves" had lost there shape and sometimes would work, and sometimes not. And it was only about 2 years old.
But it could still be getting air someplace and not show a leak. I have used air pressure into the tank fill (air gun wrapped loosely with a rag) to put a few psi into the tank...it will then show where the leak is if any. You may need a second person to use the air while you look as sometimes the leak is tiny.
Hope this helps.
How did you figure out it was the fusable link? Can you give steps in finding the problem? Did you have to replace any parts? Thanks in advance for explanation.
I had it done at a shop, they came to the house and got it started. The fuseable links are on the driver side front fender. (lose & broken wires) I can't recommend them as other work not so good. Still looking for a shop I can trust that has the knowledge to work on these trucks.
