We will be discussing several important issues at our Idaho Open Carry Dinner on July 19th at the Black Bear Restaurant at 7:00pm at 1731 S. Entertainment Ave. , Boise.
Our agenda will cover these issues:
My meeting last week with Bob Batista of Expo Idaho and a procescuting attorney for Ada County regarding restrictions on Open an Concealed Carry.
Our research that revealed 1893 law that empowers Idaho cities to restrict Concealed Carry (and what we hope to do about it).
The City of Nampa enforcing restrictions on Open and Concealed carry.
Ordinances in the City of Caldwell that restrict the carrying of firearms but that are not being enforced by the Sheriff.
All of these issues have necessarily expanded our agenda beyond Open Carrying and it has become obvious that we need to enlist the participation of the Concealed Carry community in our future endeavors if we are going to be successful in protecting our right to carry. It is for that reason that we created Idaho Carry, Open & Concealed. Many of you participated in the poll about the text in the new name and the vote was not close, actually quite lopsided. I will have the new cards, window and bumper stickers revealing your decision at next week's dinner.
The Black Bear Restaurant is in the same shopping center as Edwards Cinema 21 at Cole and Overland. Their menu is comparable the Cracker Barrel’s in many ways, including their prices; and Consumer Reports gave them a great rating. Their meeting room is enclosed by glass and can hold up to 50 people.
Bring your family and friends.
If you plan to attend (and you have not yet responded) please let me know. No reservations are required but the restaurant would like an approximate head count so they will have enough servers working to handle our group.
