Yippie-Yahooooooooooo.

11 months ago I bought a 92 F350 7. 3 NA and drove it 3-6 miles before it locked up with water in the back 2 cylinders. August I found a 96 Cummins and made the deal happen. October I ordered the conversion kit which was finally complete 2 weeks ago (this last piece btw didn't fit so I had a new one made).

The day is Saturday and as the thunder pounds in the back ground I could care less because after 20-30 seconds of cranking and another bazillion pumps on the fuel primer - FrankenDiesel farts 4 times them settles back to an idle of around 800 rmp. Ah the sweet, sweet sound and smell of a Cummins Turbo Diesel - I think I'm in love again. Was it tears of joy or just sulphur in the air.

Sunday was spent putting a stick on the transmission, stick on the transfercase, carpet back in place, head lights, grille and bumper. Now to clean enought stuff out of the way so we can see she will roll under her own power again.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Fummins pictures

bmoeller - Yes I have pictures of most of the progress. I missed a few steps while trying to juggle 3 projects at the same time.

I posted a few here on the NWBombers site

There are more of the same available if wanted.

1st trip around the block caused a little anxiety when the throttle rod on the pump flopped over and raised the idle to 2200rpm. Looks like I forgot to tighten it down sometime last fall.

Other then that the very short trip was good. South Bend Clutch was smooth as silk, ZF transmission shifted just fine but I wasn't racing threw the gears either, Driveline angles seem okay and no shudder on take off and I can tell it want's to pull a house :D

Well Folks the exhaust is on and it is sounding saaaweeeet. A neighbors friend already is asking how much I would take for it so I might be starting over with another one if he doesn't faint at the price.

My membership is due and I can't justify the cost to renew it so at this time I would like to publicly thank all those that have helped with information, parts and support.
