I paid my truck off yesterday. I bought it on 4/3/15 in McClellan TX. We were full timing in our 5th wheel at the time.
Now it spends most of its time as a garage Queen. 87,880 miles on the clock. No plans to trade up or sell. It's a great pickup, and I love driving it. No squeaks or rattles.
Think I'll give here a nice bath today.
Cheers!

Dasmoeturhead I'm on my 4th one. My first one was a 01 auto short bed bought used in 02 with 1,864 miles on it pulled our first 5th wheel with it. Then had a new 04 3500 dully 6 sped manual put around 120,000 miles on it. I missed the noise and automatic so went back to a 02 short bed. I had it for 11 years. Sold it out right and now I'm in a 2018 SLT 6 speed auto. It was a factory left over advertised as having 5 miles on it. It had 650 miles on it . Bought it last May and it is BIW (best in the world). Got it for 6 years at 1.36%. If my Credit Union is giving money away I'll take it. My other three were great trucks for their time but do not compare to what I have now.

When I worked as a Tech at a Dodge dealership, and watched those brand new pickups being unloaded off the car carrier I could only dream of owning one. To rub salt in the wound, on a slow day in the shop I'd get to PDI the new pickups. Test drive, put the dually wheel simulators, take off the shrink wrap etc. I told myself I'd have one someday, but wirh 3 kids, a new house payment and $14.00 an hour I didn't think it would ever happen. It finally did in 2014. I bought a 2014 2500 Ram ctd cc with the 68 rfe. I didn't feel like it was enough truck, so I upgraded to my current pickup. The wait was worth it.

I can really relate to you, Dasmoe! I went through the same struggles. My new car tease was like yours, but it was at a Lincoln Merc dealer. I actually would stop by a couple of Dodge dealers on a regular basis and stalk their stock only dreaming that someday I’d own a W250 Sno Commander. Lol.

DMH,

Congrats on OWNING the truck. I love driving mine too, since the hurricane hit, I've been runnig huge generators to East TX and LA to help with recovery... nothing like the purrr of a loaded Cummins running down the road. Dropped a 450KW unit off yesterday with 1K gallons of fuel at a high school being redone by over a hundred contractors. Been fun driving my beast and as I follow your posts, I believe you do too.

Cheers and Hope the truck lasts great for many years to come.

When we were full-timing with our 5th wheel for 17 months I had plenty of time to watch Hot shots pulling big loads. The majority of the huge loads were being pulled by the Ram Ctd's. My pickup loves to pull. I like towing, and it makes it a pleasure. Rides better loaded also. I never missed an opportunity to discuss Ram CTD with hotshot drivers at truck stops or rest area's. I did miss out on talking with a fella that had a 3500 flatbed with a big sleeper out back. It was all Black. Must of been a conversion or maybe you can order them like that, anyway it was a nice rig. He was just outside of Missoula MT.
