while driving home from work it started to miss and tick with no smoke, babied it home, pulled valve cover off and #4 ex rocker was way loose, ran a quick overhead on the engine and found almost all of the valves way loose, on a hot engine, i know you are not suposed to do a valve adj on a hot eng but i needed wheels, and they should have been tight on a hot engine, started and it still has a miss and tick, can hear it in the exhaust pipe, i wonder if it is starting to drop a valve seat, also on the #4 ex rocker, the adj nut sits way higher on the allen head than the rest, i stopped working on it and had to resort to the ol ladys honda for a ride, i am going to buy a new car or suv on thursday and i will pull the truck into the shop for a cylinder head removal, 57, 200 miles on the odometer, oh well time to build a real truck, any one have info on great cylinder head rebuilding for a hot rod diesel, eng i want o-rings and studs and then i will crank the twins up , i also need valve springs for a larger cam that will work with stock pistons if they are ok. . :--)
