It's hard to go back..........!

I tied to be a sensible, responsible adult today, and failed. My '98 has a BD plate of unknown #'s and it rocks... ... it also smokes like a train and will peg the egt in about 30 seconds. So I thought I'd do the right thing and install a #11 TST at the same time I was putting in the gov. spring kit. After all, 90% of my driving is with a #12,500 gooseneck and I live in the Rockies which means a lot of my attention is on the guage a lot of the time!In the quest for the cooler exhaust, in goes the #11... full forward... . AFC full forward... . medium spring backed off.....gov. springs at . 080
This should be (and probably is) the best set up for worry free towing with a good bit of HP. But..... it just aint enough! I miss the kick in the pants, Ford smokin', smile inducing, who'd of thought a 7500lb truck could accelerate like this rocket boost of the BD#? plate. Oh well... ... ... I tried.
(does anyone know of a 12 step program for bombaholics)

Install TST plates for 215s in stock position for egt control. If you want more get the TST#10 and you won't miss the BD plate any more (What number is on the BD plate--nothing wrong with them, but it may not be the right one for your engine). However, if you put in the "ten" you will miss your clutch. Or it will seem to be missing because you will have too much torque.

I know of a sixteen step program for bombaholics. Search for the 16 steps to a sickly Ram in my Bombaholics 1000 thread, if I recall.
