I used to do the same thing when I had to fix them for a living.

I always thought it was funny that ford had to re-design the wheel. Look at the seven lug rims on the light duty F-250, or the metric lug measurements on the heavy duty F-250 that nothing else will bolt up with.

I wish I was. These wheels were used on the F-250 that used the same body as the F-150. They were only built for a couple years, until the super duty came out. There's not many around, as they also built and sold the previous body style as a heavy duty at the same time. Some excursions even use these wheels.

Sorry I don't remember the years, it was sometime around '93 or '94.

Didn't Ford do the light F-250 in 97 and 98? I know a guy at work that has one, its at least a 97. They came with an odd tire size too (255 60 or something), he switched to a larger more common 265 / 75 R16 size truck tire.

You could only get the gas motors up to the 5. 4. Not much better than a F-150.

WELL, in all fairness, Ford has sure put some neat and fun hardware out on the road - sure wish I still had my '40 tudor - or the '51 club coupe - and the '56 Victoria sure was nice... Just to name a few we've owned in the past...

If it wasn't for the older Fords - and Chevy smallblocks to power them, sure wouldn't be NEARLY as many hotrod shows or magazines around...

All makes have their bad runs from time to time - but by and large, they all make some pretty good stuff - it's how they deal with inevitable problems as they crop up and the customers that REALLY can set one apart from another!

One thing's for certain - this country is FAR better off WITH FOMOCO than it would be WITHOUT it! ;) ;) ;)

7 lug wheels

They initially called them f-250's for a couple of years, then they dropped the 250 badges and labeled them as f-150 7700's. They ALL have that screwy 7 bolt wheels!
