WHOOHOO! Finally... ... ... , 'the Rig' is on order as of today!

Somewhere here I saw someone refer to a VIN # tracker or some way to locate deliveries, anyone have that info? I'm hoping to have the VIN upon order confirmation from the factory late this week or early next and any way to "watch" the build/delivery would help. (yea, help build the suspense in an already unbearable situation).

Is the wait supposed to feel like forever??? And they said it would be 60-90 days!!! Aghh! Christmas never looked this good before. ;)

ps. Thanks to all the people that helped answer the questions during the 'research' period. This site is awesome. (even for newbies) :)

Thanks!

Perfect! That's exactly what I was looking for.

For the gauges... I'm trying to find someone in the general area willing/able to install them at a reasonable price. (I'm not exactly the most mechanical natured by default, unfortunately. They'd have to come out with a new book "Ram's for Dummies" before I could ever hope to successfully work on a vehicle. Maybe oil changes on the 2002 would be ok. . hmmm.

I didn't think the Plow Prp Group was available with the SLT + package.

Did you have any trouble ordering that or the LSD with the 3. 55?

Sregorb,

did you join the colorado farm bureau? You can still use the $500 rebate from them. Just present the coupon before you take pick your truck up.

You must be a member for at least 30 days then ask for the coupon. Also... the best thing. You don't have to be a farmer to join.

LSchenck- I know exactly what your asking about. But, no prob with order (yet?). I noticed when 'online building it', one site didn't allow the SLT+ and plow package at same time but another did. Didn't seem to have any problem at the dealership building and submitting. Also asked point blank whether they can or can't and they confirmed both CAN exist on vehicle. Whoohoo!

Scott- Got your PM, working on reply:)

I ended up going with Dave Smith Motors. That's right, the one waaaaaay the heck up in Idaho. So I've got a plane trip and a 1200 mile break in trip to make in Dec when it arrives. I don't mind it for a sec because the local stealerships couldn't/wouldn't reduce their precious profit margins for squat. So my business went elsewhere.

Frank- YES!!!!! I ran right out after reading posts here and joined the beginning of the month! It'll be the best $40 I ever spent. I'm still waiting on the materials and the membership # and I'll be set.

:D :D :D

Re: Thanks!

Brian,

Let me know if I can help out in anyway. I live on the North side of Denver, but I have no problem driving down to where your at to help you out with the Gauges. They are actually very simple to install.

Maybe we can get the RMTDR guys together and have a BOMBing Party. I need to do some work on the wifes truck anyways.

Feel free to call if you need anything 303-885-2875

EXCELLENT! Yes I need help with the gauges. I'm expecting to take delivery of "The Rig" mid December and I'll probably start the upgrades in Jan-Feb timeframe. Plenty of notice for us to plan on a time/date:D I'll give you a call soon.....

Thanks for the offer! This site is awesome!!!

Any recommendations on what brand guages/parts to look for and buy? I could go blindly out and buy gauges but I'll probably have to wait and see where the most comfortable place to put them is. I like the column mounts but I have to see if it really causes a concern with the blind spot... ... Alternative points toward down low under the dash.

Brian,

I can say that there are a bunch of brands out there(Autometer, VDO, SPA, ISSPRO, Westach. . etc), If you'd like, We'll have to meet up and I'll show you what I did.

I currently have a 3 gauge dash pod with the Autometer Ultralight gauges. They work. . but personally I don't like them. I am thinking about upgrading to SPA digital gauges sometime soon. Well see though.

I thought that the wait for my fist CTD truck was long (4 weeks), but that was nothing compared to waiting all summer (~10 weeks) for the camper to arrive. Then after I got the camper, I traded in the 6 month old truck (5 speed short box) for the one shown in my sig. , which I bought off the lot.

Gauges

First, congrats on the new rig  . I have had the Autometer Ultra Lites and sold them for Isspros new EV series gauges. These gauge look like the could be factory. The EV stands for Enhanced Visibility and they have done a great job, the numbers and pointer are all lit like the stock gauges. I am waiting on the pyro to show up, I have fuel pressure and manifold pressure.

Great, thanks for info, and thanks for the congrats:D :D :D

Big question is where are they mounted and do like/dislike where they are?
