In my 2006 Dodge Diesel Automatic transmission has 42,000 miles pulling a enclose car trailer all its life. Does the transmission have a adjustment? I want to install a new filter. So far I have done nothing to the transmission. I change the engine oil and filter every 3,000 miles. I know I could go more but I plan on keeping this truck all my life that I have left.:-laf Its never been in salt, snow or left outside.

There is a front band adjustment and a rear band. Im at work so I dont have the specs right now. I would also install an upgraded governor pressure solenoid and sensor. Make sure you use atf+4 fluid and any parts store filter.

Thank you I did not know that. I never had a car or truck that had 100,000 miles on it. I have a 95 Dodge Diesel that has 61,000 miles. It also has had the oil change every 3,000 miles Rotella 15W40 all its life.

x2 on the upgraded gov solenoid and sensor. Very easy to do. I also added an external transmission filter (Dieselsite) that was super easy.

Will this help ?

Thank you for the information that I will use. BUT right now we have 9 inches of snow and its 0 here a bit too cold will wait until its warmer weather. I hope the end of March it warms up. This has been a tough winter here. Have not got much done so far this year.

It sounds like you don't have a shop manual for your 2006. I believe if anyone is working on their personal vehicle, everyone should have a shop manual. It's about 227 megs so it's not that small. At least you'll have it to work with. Since it's sort of big, and I need the room in my dropbox folders, I'll leave it up for a couple weeks and I'll have to remove it for the room, or let me know when you got it and I'll clean it out then. It helped me out several times when I had a question like you mentioned in this thread.

I don't have a manual for the 2006 but do for a 99. I also would like to have one for a 95. I have a 95 and a 2006. The 95 has 61,000 miles and the 2006 has 42,000 miles on it now. I am 75 years old so I have slowed up a bit. My grand kids will wear them out after I am gone.

KennethS, use the link above for the 2006 (in post #8), it's still good and I'll wait for you to get it, and then get this link:

It's the manual for the 95.

Also, I'm not that far behind you in age, but I intend on wearing my truck out before I leave this world and have the grandkids busy rebuilding it when I'm gone.
That can be it's 2nd wind and they can wear it out again.

My 2006 Dodge is in the shop having the transmission service and updated as you have told me. I have a friend that has a transmission shop and I explain what you fellows told me and he agreed and said no problem. Don't know what the cost is yet but will find out when he is done.???? I bought this truck new and I am 75 now so I will keep it until the end. It still looks new. So does mu 95 Dodge Diesel. It only has 62,000 miles on it.
