I've been banned from another forum that mostly caters to the Ford Powerstroke crowd. I'm honored.

I contribute to several forums but mainly lurk to see whats happening with our friends that have other diesel trucks. Let me tell you, our friends with Fords have problems with the 6. 4 that make our problems with the 6. 7 seem very minor.

Apparently, our friends with Fords would like to think that their trucks are the best and have no room for someone that has a different brand.

That's OK, different "strokes" for different folks. Pun intended.

Where are you located in Oregon?

how about a link to that thread/forum?

Sometimes during the day I need some good entertainment.

Thats ok all new Ford's should come with the option of the tailgate heater so when the stupid thing breaks down your hand's dont get cold pushin it .

S. W. Oregon. I honestly don't know which thread caused the trouble. To the extent that I posted, I tried to present the good/bad of both trucks. My sig was pretty much the same as here, so obviously I was a Dodge fan. I tried not to flame or or cause problems so I was quite surprised about the ban. The only post that might have been an issue was a mileage report. I did note that my old '93 got 20 MPG, but also that newer trucks are heavier, more emissions stuff, etc. The site was Diesel Forum - The Diesel Stop.com .

Funny how things turn out some times.

A guy on another dodge cummins website by the user name vzdude called me a retard and said that I'am just like the special olympics, even if I win at the end of the day I'am still a retard. I reported it and I'am the one that got banned. I even wrote a couple of times to the web master and he said that by me writing and stating my case proves I can not let things be. So he banned me for good.

Doesn't matter I've been under a different IP and user name the day after the incident, now a year later and several posts and they haven't even had to repremand me. Guess it shows I can keep it civil and it depends on who the other person is your in debate with.

One thing it has taught me though is not to contribute any more. I hated to see anyone get hurt and wanted to do right. I have learned that eventually things will come around to my way of thinking or I was correct. The only sad thing is alot of people get hurt or loose money because some of use choose not to contribute anymore.

One other thing I have learned is just about every heated debate comes from a vendor, soon to be vendor, auto shop owner. Couldn't be because they stand to loose money! Nah, it's just my imagination, could never happen in this country. :-laf

I love the freedom of speech... But the politics suck!

I can tell you that when I was considering a new truck (back in 2000) I asked around to people that had Dodges, and Fords, why they chose the truck they had or were selling (at dealerships). The Dodge guys always had a legitimate technical answer or something substantial to reply with. The "F" guys... . Not so much. Unless you go with "because my daddy and his daddy had nothing but "F's"and they rule!" Now, I know there are good and bad things about each make. But when a person can not get a solid non-biased answer from anyone on a subject... Well... I guess the subject really isn't worth paying much attention to, or $40k for that matter.

So, with all that said... It is no surprise to me that (even today) the followers of brand "F" are not any more mature than the retailers.

My faith restored, the webmaster at the other site reversed the "forever banned". In return, I promised to be careful not to speak too highly of CTD's. That's fine, as I never intended to flame, only to inform. From now on I intend to just observe on the other site.

You know the term misery loves company? Well, when I see how miserable some of the brand "F" guys are it makes me feel much better about our CTD's.

Off topic a bit, but CTD's used to be great trucks for any kind of service. I've concluded that with the new emissions stuff the 6. 7 is better suited to working hard, not puttering around town. Perhaps the Cummins engineers will sort all this stuff out, but I'm afraid the days of CTD's having wonderful fuel economy are gone. Perhaps they will still excel compared to the competition, but with the price difference for the diesel I think it only makes sense for those working/towing. Otherwise, I think a straight gas rig makes more sense. No flame intended as I think the 6. 7 is a great work engine. I'm just happy to have my dependable '93 CTD that just runs and runs.....

I got banned from the CARSON DODGE forum a couple years back. I did not like the way the moderator skipped a LOT of the Dodge truck issues. He spoke out of both sides of his mouth like a customer service rep. He either ignored the issues and real facts or tapped danced around them. I posted the real facts and real questions on real issues that have all been discussed on this site plus others and got banned.

Ummmmm, DTR... :-laf Sounds like it! That joker of a Moderator is a J/A... ... I got banned twice. Oo.

You guys sound like a bunch of meenies. :-laf

I've never got banned from any forum. I've gotten posts deleted, "reprimands" etc. But not banned!!!

Keep up the good work!:D

That happened to me with the TDP about the POS D/A I had for a company service truck, when complaining about the MPG and over heating. I was told that I was rude and too aggressive with the other members. (not true) They could not stand the truth about their GM trucks. The funny part was after talking to the moderator and being accused of what I talked about, they ganged up on me with the most hated responses when they thought I couldn't see it, to include the moderator. Every thing I complained about came true as the years passed.

I got banned from a chevy Vega site once . . for mentioning that mine used a lot of oil ..... but the seat would let down so my girl friend and I could ah..... rest!

Dont worry, I got banned by Larry too... That's when we started the 'other' sites... other being the powerstroke nation and the oil burners stuff. that is where all the banned people go.
