Ran into a friend tonight who told me I started a trend in my small town.

It all started with a different friend's 99 3500 he just recently traded for a '02 3500.

He let me drive the '99 one day, and he & I and another mutual friend got to talk'n about our trucks and I told him about the silencer ring. He say's ok "yank it out". So..... I did and 2 days later he trades.

First night he had his '02 the mutual friend must have reminded him of the ring because it came out. Then they ran into another friend who has a 2001 2500, and within minutes they had his hood up!:eek: :D

I think they said that they got another guy too, but I can't remember.

Wow! Now if I could just get them to join TDR!:confused:

The standard answer is no, there's not supposed to be any difference in performance of the turbo with this removed. I suspect though that my right foot has learned to strive for a certain, pleasing pitch (screaming through the aFe MegaCanon) that may result in decreased fuel efficiency. :D

No, no performance increase. Just a noise increase which some like and some don't. :-{}

Me, call me crazy but I prefer to listen to my stereo than my turbo.

I just recently got a Amp installed a month ago, and I think now that I would have been able to drown the sound out. But I've already re-installed the SR and I don't want to chance repeated removal's and installations. :rolleyes:

I was halfway across Arkansas, coming back from buying my truck in Dallas, before I even turned the stereo on. CTD is just too sweet a sound at 80mph.

I told my dad about the SR and why mine was gone. He said, "pull mine out". Don't think Mom would go for it.

He's undervalved Mark, you may have to help me "tune up" his 160.
