since my 4 1/2 y/o daughter came out of pre-k at church and told me they started learning it. i don't think i need to, but here goes.



I pledge allegiance to the flag

of the United States of America,

and to the republic for which it stands,

one nation under GOD, indivisible,

with liberty, and justice for all.



thought about every word today. getting all teary eyed just reading it here.

I am slowly starting to really realise what has happened to us. It is very sobering. It still hurts to see the pictures of the destruction and all the people crying and looking for their family members that they know are dead.

I would consider myself pretty de-sensitized to this stuff too.



Its soo bad! Not a single day has gone by this week I have not gotten all choked up. Im worse than my wife about this stuff.

Watched the prayer service at noon today, very touching. We went to our son's football game tonight. The band played Taps first, then the National Anthem. Hard to make it through, but I did. God bless America.

When I was growing up we would give our pledge every morning at school as well at Cub Scout meetings/activities, and later as I got older, at Boy Scout meetings/activities.



..... Damned proud to say it (and mean it) too! Furthermore, as far as I'm concerned, politically correct or not, if you don't like it or mean it you can get the he!! out!

Amen to that John. This crap about kids not standing when the pledge is recitied due to whatever beliefs has got to end. Put the flag, and prayer back in school!

That's one of the reasons we enrolled our daughter in a private, Christian school (pre-K last year, kindergarten this year... same school).

Not sure of the words, but the 3rd verse of America, the Beautiful says for me what I have been feeling as I watch the New York firefighters dig through the rubble at the WTC. Those men that rushed to their deaths to save others should never be forgotten. It goes something like this:
