Advice on a new video camera....

Just what kids need . J K Rowling gets all kids and people to start reading again and she now inserts a Gay ( what did we call these folks before Gay) person into the story. What a tragedy for all us us. She must need the dollars or a lead in to the next set of books.

gay or not, at least the kids are reading. . i can't read worth feces, so i haven't picked up a fiction book since high school. still read [well, look at] magazines and thumb through technical and other non fiction books... i actually wish i could read better, as there are plenty of neat looking books at the bookstores when i wander around them from time to time. .

Nick, I read everything I get near. Pill bottles at breakfast, paper, books, magazines, billboards, etc. I love to read. If you start to read things you like, and look up words you are not sure of, you will get better. Doesn't matter if it's TDR, Harry Potter, or some of my wifes romance novels. Practice makes perfect. After a while you will enjoy it more, and it won't be so hard. It's never too late to learn. ;)

What PToombs said. Just read, the more you do it the better you get.

The more you do it the better you get at it.

Like it or not "gay" is a part of past and present societies... several cultures throughout the world accept/endorse it in different forms so burying a kids head will do more harm than good... educate your children so they can make good unbiased/non-bigoted choices and you'll be very pleased with the results... and hands down reading is the most important aspect of a well rounded education.

I got to say, I liked reading this part:

Not everyone likes her work, Rowling said, likely referring to Christian groups that have alleged the books promote witchcraft. Her news about Dumbledore, she said, will give them one more reason.

I really don't see the "tragedy for us all" in having a story character that is gay.

dyslexia doesn't help me either. . i have tried reading books since HS, but taking 15min to read one page in a book is frustrating, so i don't. .

that is also why i went into a mechanical trade. i'd never make it in the white collar business world

i learned that one a few weeks back while riding my bicycle in the bush. . something jammed in the derailer, it went into the spokes of the wheel, it bent the derailer all to heck, bent the rear swing frame, and threw me off. . just glad it wasn't ±50' further down the trail, or i would have taken a swim down a 30' drop into the lake. no fun fixing the bike on the trail

Yeah, that will make it tough! I don't know much about dyslexia, other than it's swapping letters in your head. Is there a way to train yourself around it? I guess if you can get by, then you do what you can.
