Jack Advice

Im looking into getting a floor jack and jack stands.

Would a 4000 lb floor jack and equal weight jack stands be sufficent for the truck?

Any comments are welcome.

I bought a 3000# floor jack and it would not raise one side of my front end. I bought a 3 ton from Harbor Frieght and it has worked well. A buddy of mine has a 4000# floor jack and said the seals are starting to leak. I'd get a bigger one so it won't start giving you trouble.

After re reading the post, I meant to ask about a 4 ton floor jack not a

4000 #.

I have a Sears 4-ton I got on sale. Works fine. My only complaint is the lift plate is a little small.

I use 3-ton jack stands under the front. 2-ton are fine for the rear.

I have one from Hein Werner. Expensive, but STRONG and made in USA. I love it because, unlike the chinese made ones, you can actually EASE the load down instead of just dropping it!
