Axle weights w & w/o 5th wheel

Towing Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering the best way to jack up my 5th wheel to remove the whells. I noticed that the rubber valve stems are cracking real bad and want to get them changed to metal ones but have never jacked up the 5th wheel before to remove the wheels. I do have a 4 ton bottle jack and was wanting to know if I just put it under the axle and jack it up or What??? Any suggestions or direction would be appreciated. The tires themselves appear to be in good condition. Getting ready for the season and can't wait much longer to get out.

I used a bottle jack under the axle. . and once the wheel was off the ground I put a jack stand under the frame and put some press down on the stand.

But I also have seen someone use a floor jack under the center spring mount that is welded to the frame. Either way you will be able to lift it off. Also if you have a favorite tire shop. . hook to the trailer and take it to them. . and let them do all the work!!!!!

I have a ramp type thing that I carry with me. I drive up it and lifts teh other tire. Just lifts one tire at a time but no chance to damage anything underneath.

Some 5th wheel trailers have torsion axles that can be severely damaged by placing the jack beneath the axle, e. g. bent axle. I believe these require jacking the trailer frame. My tandem axle 5er has torsion axles and I have an aluminum "EZ Jack". This device functions as a trailer jack/leveler. I have yet to use it.
