I have a buddy with a 04. 5 6spd 3500 DRW he just had a brake installed and loves it, but he only use's it when hooked to his trailer

Oh yeah sorry it wasn't dealer installed ;)

My dealer charged $1350 for the Jacobs eBrake and $250 for the install. However, I decided to do the install myself just because I wanted to wrench on the new truck a bit :D One thing about having the dealer do the install (at least this is the case on a new truck) they will cover the labor if anything needs to be fixed on the brake within the 3/36 warranty period. I should be installing it this weekend Oo.

Is that a typical price for a Jacobs brake? I bought a 4" inline Pac with mounting hardware for less than $500 plus a $40 solenoid to run it off my previously installed air supply. $1300 plus sounds pretty steep.

I had one installed at dealer a couple weeks ago and the total cost came to $1,375. 00. I like it. I had one in my 96 5 sp. after not having one. I got in troube coming down a long steep grade with my trailer and had to stop for a construction flag lady and couldn't. Good luck.

The reason why the Mopar Jake for the 03-05 is more because there is no vacuum pump on these years and the kit includes the pump. Also there is more labor involved putting on the pump. :)

gthiessen... ... ... ... ... Duh !!!! That applies to all the exhaust brakes installed on the 3rd gens. I got the Pac brake at way less price than the Jacobs and love it. I use it ALL the time not just towing. It also required an air compressor and solenoid and came with a small air tank.

$1200 for the brake, installed by the dealer. I've only had the truck for a week or so and haven't done any towing yet but it seems to work pretty well.

I got out of the dealers door with mine for 1511. 91. Use it every day, helps a ton in traffic on the way home. I like down shifting more now, that it has that baby big rig sound.

I paid $650 installed because the dealer at the time when I purchased my truck was not aware of the difference on the 3rd gen trucks vs. the previous ones. Yes, they tried to get me for another 1100 but I told them what to do. :p
