Has anyone else noticed and intermittent hi pitched squeal when the Jacob's brand brake engages? Mine does it only occasionally and then only for a few seconds. Also does changing the exhaust system change the sound of the brake? I absolutely hate the sound of mine. I'd much rather hear the BD brake on my 95!:(

Check your connection from the brake to the turbo housing.....

This clamp should be re-checked after the first couple hundred miles and most customers don't do that...

If the clamp is loose... it can make noise from the pressurized air moving from the housing and the second effect is lack of retarding HP... .

Hope this helps...

I checked the connection and they were all tight. Next I started the truck with the brake engaged, You can feel exhaust on the manifold side against the block. Inspection with a mirror show exhaust soot between the two side of the clamp. Any thoughts (a bad gasket or clamp maybe)?

Bad gasket. It is very brittle. I think a new one is 20 bucks from a Cummins distributor.
