Jacobs E-Brake

Need Jacobes E-Brake for 98 12 Valve, any one know where to get at decent price? Dodge only sells the 24 Valve Model.



Cummins Dealers in my area just say the engines are sold to dodge and they don't deal with them, Some kind of agreement between them.



Please Help!!!

You haven't given a clue about what "my area" is.



You should be able to access a Cummins service and parts facility from Cummins locator . The locator will give you a lot of non-Cummins facilities as well as Cummins facilities. A few telephone calls should help you out.



I assume the E-brake by Jacobs (along with the heavier valve springs) is still available for your engine.

Yes, the kit is still made through jacobs, part # 3804848 including valve springs. This is from jacobs. They say to contact your cummins service and parts dealer, call the dealers and I get "We don't deal with the B5. 9's sold to dodge. Now this may be the management at these shops that I am trying.



My area is east central Mass.





I managed to find a shop that would talk to me, and asked for E-Brake from jacobs and I had the Cummins part number, he rattles off that he need the engine serial number, give it to him and he asks if I am running air or hyd. brakes, OK you need the E-Brake, a valve spring kit and will need air pressure supply pump kit, I am asking him what is he talking about, the kit comes with the valve springs and is vacuum operated. then he responds with let me check this out. latter says for the B5. 9 12 valve you need kit number 3804848 and cost $1295. 00.



Aparently I am looking in the wrong places.



Can anyone point me to the way out, of this headache
