INSTALLED A JACOBS EXHAUST BRAKE ON A 2003 HO CUMMINS, 6 SPEED, 4-10 REAREND. WHEN ENGAGING THE BRAKE I HAVE NO NOTICIBLE CHANGE IN SPEED OR BRAKING. CHECKED BUTTERFLY AND VAC. PRESSURE, ALL WORKING PROPERLY. NEED HELP!! NOT HAPPY IN BRAKING POWER OF JAKE, IS SOMTHING WRONG?

Can you hear it hiss when you apply it? Make sure your RPM's are over 2000 or you get nothing. My Pacbrake works great.

The greater the RPM's the greater the retarding

Check it in the lower gears where it will tell you if it is working clearly and without guessing. In the higher gears it is not quite so noticeable until you have a little time to get used to it.

Run up the RPM to 3K in third, let off on the pedal and you should know if it is working or not (have your seat belt fastened ;) ).

Mine was installed by my dealer. There is a hissing noise at idle and when I'm decellerating. Mine works great and the effect is VERY noticable at virtually all RPM's although more so at higher RPM's.

You must have some problem with the installation.
