The place where I ordered my new pickup just jacked up the price on the Jacobs e brake for my 2003 HO $150. 00.

They had priced Dodge part no 82207410 at $840 cost but now say there is a new part number of 2208277 at a cost of $990. I assume they looked at an old number or the part number for a Gen 11 or 1? Or, are they just jacking me around and making stuff up?

I'll probably still go with the deal but I don't like it when things change. I don't suppose I could buy the brake from a Cummins dealer and get a better deal? I could install the brake myself and save some $$$ but then if something went wrong I wouldn't have anyone to fall back on.

Thanks,

Bob

82208277 is the correct part number for the MY03 brake; the part number was changed several months ago. 82207410 was never actually offered for sale but it was priced in the Mopar system.

Don't feel bad. The quote from my st..... dealer was $2445. Plus labour, plus tax.

US Dollars?

$1,230 installed for me (US). Too much more than that and I probably would have gone with a PACbrake and installed it myself. I went with the Jacob's because of the relationship with Cummins/Dodge, dealer installed (in case something goes wrong) and it will be on the 0% financing.

I probably don't really need an e-brake but hope to in a year or two. Sounds like it will come in handy for warm up and I do a lot of mountain driving and thought it might save a little wear on the brakes even empty.

Only 10 more days until delivery!

Bob,

$990. sounds like a deal, better get it in writing. Alot of members have had to pay much more than that. I believe that the brake retails somewhere around $1300. The install isn't dificult, but will take the best part of a day.
