I believe that DC pays for the install with that special deal to commercial buyers. I think the brake lists for $840 plus installation. $299 works out pretty good using my math;) !

Take the brake ( I assume that you are getting a manual transmission, your sig doesn't say). The best price I've seen on a brake is about $530, not installad.

This is a on the job incentive. If you are a business owner, there are several different incentives you can get. One being the brake for $299. 00.

So if I have a bussiness, I can get ALL OF THOSE, OR JUST ONE OF THOSE?

I would get the Running Boards for $54. 00

The Jake Brake for $299

and the Free Tool Box.

why not? if you don't like them you can always take them off.

What do I need, A bussiness card? or does the truck have to be bought in the company name?

I guess I'm S. O. L. ! I don't own a business, and I don't own enough land to join the farm bureau in my state. :(

You can just pay your 50 bucks to Join the farm thing, no land required. Unfortunetly you have to be a member for 30 days before you can get the discount. I already tried a retro. For someone that has one on order though...

Your rite krabman! Looks like I can become an associate member for $15. Now all I have to do is educate the parts guy at my local Dodge stealer.

:D :D :D

Today I called back east and spoke with a Dodge "on the job" coordinator (877-ON-THE-JOB). The $300 Jake brake is only available to those who own a business - any business, including a farm. You would be asked to provide proof of income from this business.

Being a farm bereau member WILL NOT get you anything except a $500 discount on the purchase of a new vehicle. I was told these are 2 completely seperate programs.

I also found that if you go to the website it doesn't mention anything about farm bereau - just bussiness owners.

:( :( :(

I just meant you can join the farm bureau without owning land. I did this with my last truck but not this one cause you have to be a member 30 days before you purchase the truck to get the discount. Dave Smith had exactly the truck I wanted and I didnt wanna wait to get the discount. As I said in my previous post, if you are ordering one it is something you aught to do. I wasnt aware that you thought you might be able to get into the jake brake by being a member. Sorry about the confusion.

krabman, You didn't confuse me, I was already that way

I just wanted to clear things up because I had read some earlier threads somewhere that I now know were not entirely correct.

Anybody out there who owns a business (and a new truck) want to make a deal? :D

Well, so much for the brake. Dealer told me the brake would run about $1300. 00 installed and that all Dodge would do is allow me $500. 00. That is not the way I interpreted it. I'm pretty sure all I did was get the run around. I was also going to take the $1000. 00 cash and buy a few extras. Was told that they could not do that, had to be deducted from the price of the vehicle. What a deal.

I have one on order, I just got off the phone with Cummins and they said that they should be shipped "any day now". I think they should be here by the middle or end of the month. I believe the list on the ebrake from Jacobs around $840. 00, not much different than when I put one on in 98. I am not sure about the price, but if you tow a heavy load it's worth every dime.

An interesting note in the 2003 Dodge Trailer Towing Guide states "Use an exhaust brake for all 3500 manual transmission applications with a trailer weight over 10,000 lb". Now that is weird. I can understand manual applications only but why specify the 3500 model? Enlighten me? I am sure my frozen brain must have missed something.
