Why doesn't Jacobs Brake make a real brake for our trucks??? Im not talking about an exhaust brake, I mean the compression release brake like big-rigs. That would be one of the first mods I would ever buy!!!

The way I heard it was DC and Cummins asked them not to. Can't really attest to the validity of that, but I heard that somewhere. With that said, since those are not available from Jacobs or Cummins or PacBrake or anyone else, I suggest the Pacbrake PRXB. That thing is trick! Sounds kinda like a mini jake. There's a definite little popping sound from it that immediately makes you think "JAKE", but beyond that, it really works! Great retarding power, even at lower rpms (1000-1500), PLUS it has the benefit of a little on-board air compressor w/ a standard connector fitting, air hose and tire chuck. Altogether a really nice piece... .

To my knowledge, no one makes a c-brake for any engines under 10-11L displacement.

Maybe someone should cause you know they would make a lot of money!!!!

I figured somebody already made one for the commercial 5. 9, I guess not.

One problem I know of right off the batt, it would require a body lift for the current trucks. They add about 3" of height to the engine.

I'm curious on how much braking hp would be available, vs the bigger engines, or compared to an e-brake. May be possible that the e-brake has more power.
