Jammed up by the $&#* key fob!

Went camping and was about 6 miles from anywhere. Had a great time. When I was ready to leave I grab the trusty key fob, hit the unlock and--nothing happens. No lights flashing, no door unlocking. Checked my gear but had no extra batteries. By this time I was thoroughly disgusted and started hiking my sorry #$$ out of the woods to get a replacement battery. Several hours later I'm back to civilization, but the stores don't open for another 2 hours. After losing several hours and seeing the sun starting to set I finally get my battery and start hiking back to the woods. It's not until I'm climbing over the last tangled hill that I realize...
