1. Has anyone installed a Jannetty Racing's Transmission Temp Manifold?

I bought one several month ago but just haven't gotten around to installing it. The other day I decided to install it but when I crawled under the truck I couldn't tell which line and where it was supposed to be installed.

2. Where is it supposed to be installed?

I saw several 90 turns but I didn't notice any of them that changed line size at the 90.

Or maybe I'm just lost but the manifold that I received had 2 fittings installed on it. the 2 fittings were different sizes and they were in the manifold as if it was supposed to be installed at a 90 turn in the lines. The unused opening on the manifold is where I'm assuming the transmission temp sensor is supposed to be installed.

3. Has anyone had any problems with these leaking fluid?

4. Do you have any tips on how to install it?

(unhook the lines and use a pipe cutter or hack saw, etc)

5. How much transmission fluid will I loose during the install?

6. What is and Why are the lines on the driver side of the transmission going up to a sort of a canister up next to the engine block just under the exhaust manifold?

Just incase my signature doesn't show up, my truck is a 2001 3/4.

I'm throwing mine away

I installed mine several months agao and I don't like it at all.

At first appearance I was disappointed about how dirty the manifold was and the lack of any directions for install. Through help of those on this site I got it all figured out and the install was quite simple, like a drawing could have helped.

Anyway I have tried several times to stop the leak that drips all over my driveway, exposed aggregate ya know... . fun to clean... .

Now that hind sight is 20/20 I would can the manifold and spend the $ on the '95 line and you know it will be right. Mine is going on next week.

Anyway i lost about 2 quarts of fluid since it took forever to align the tube and then tighten the manifold fittings. The second time I was able to think a little bit and mark the alignment, remove the line and tighten the manifold on the bench. This was better but still a pain in the a-- to get ligned up and tight.

The canister on the side of the block is a cooler. The fluid goes here first then to the trans cooler in front of the radiator, on my '99. I think it also serves as a heater in cold climates as it exchanges heat with the engine coolant. Not for sure on this one but it makes sense.

Anyway long and short, sell the manifold and put the'95 line. IMHO.

Good Luck.

Mine leaked also, I gave it to one member for 10$. I had it installed in the hot cooler line. I installed it vertically about an inch under the fitting on the cooler. Use a Dremmel rotary tool to cut the line, fluid loss was minimal.

Sell it and buy the 95 line with the fitting in it, that's what I ended up doing.

I said it then and I will say it again

you get what you paid for.

You buy a 20-30K truck- if you want to do it right-buy the replacement line.

No leaks since installed :)

Has anyone had any luck with Jannett's manifold?

I hate to ask because I've seen it posted on TDR 1,000 times but since the search engine is down, could someone tell what the part number is for the 95 cooler line?

How hard was it to install?

I can't find the part # but give Fred Swanson a shout http://www.desertdieselparts.com/ he sold me mine for 80$, stealer wanted 110$.

Not hard to do but then again I had Fred do it, hell I was on vacation after all!:D It's just two fittings the hardest part is to get it around the engine to the cooler, no biggie.

I had one..........

Sitting in the garage now. Prior to the transmission upgrades I used the block with no problems at all. Installed it just below the cooling canister also.

Had it replaced during the transmission upgrades due to the higher line pressures. Didn't want to take a chance for $80.
