Just picked up a Jayco 341RLQS 5er. It is built on the Designer frame and has shock mounts on the axle and frame, but no shocks installed.

Anybody able to give me a part number for the shocks to go on this unit? The Designer 34RLQS chassis is identical.

The shock mounts accept the threaded piston type on both ends (like the top end of the front shocks on our CTDs). Monroe makes a kit but requires holes drilled in the frame, and the lower end attached to the spring pack u bolts. Since the mounting pads are already there I'm looking for a bolt-in unit.

TIA

My last terry has the same mounts on it. threaded end on both ends of the shock. I spend an afternoon looking through the pictures in a shock catalog. I found some 60's ford truck, and checker cabs were the only things that ever used that style mount, and good luck finding either shock in someones stock to check it out. I went to the RV dealer and paid to much for the right ones.

I'm trying to get a part number from the dealer. The dealer called Jayco and was told "there is no part number because that model doesn't come with shocks as an option. " Makes you want to ring their neck.

Did the shocks you finally got come out of stock or did they have to order them from Terry? Maybe I can go to a Terry dealer and get them since I can't seem to get anything out of my dealer.

Try asking for shocks for a 1996 Jayco Designer 3030RKSS. I had one of these with the shock mounts from the factory but no shocks - I added them later. Another possibility would be the 2000 Jayco Designer XL 3610RLTS - mine came with shocks from the factory and had Dexter 6000 lb axles.

Thanks Rusty. I sent Jayco an email asking for the part number off a Designer 34RLQS since it is the same chassis. We'll see if they reply.

On my Jayco, Napa 94015 shocks worked.
Thanks. I'll check them out. What model Jayco you running?

Jayco responded to my email asking for my VIN. Guess they really don't want you putting shocks on these - they want you to upgrade.

I have a 97 Eagle 303RK. Shocks were an option. I had a bracket come off, so I was able to take a good shock in as an example The part number is from 1999.

they were just a set of 4 shocks he had ordered for someone. he was not even a Terry dealer. Almost like all trailers with that threaded post on both sides use the same shock. wonder if Monro has a help desk number you can call?

If you have an idea of how long they have to be open, then closed you could use any shock that would fit the mounts

I ordered Monroe 555025's from Rock Auto. After measuring the clearance between the two mounts, the NAPA shocks were too short. I have my suspension adbusted all the way up, giving more distance between the upper and lower mounting points.

The additional length of the Monroes will put the shock in the middle of its travel zone.

Thanks for all the replies.
