Do brake pads get old?

Yep, I've seen that too and more! I sold JCB backhoes for several years when I was selling construction equipment. One time I had a demonstration set up for a customer. He also was looking at John Deere. Both machines were on hand at the customer's location for a demonstation. I knew how effective this type of demo was and had invited the JCB factory demonstrator to help with my demonstration. The John Deere rep ignorantly began running down the JCB because it had no backhoe power.

I asked the JCB factory rep begin his demonstarion. After it was over, the customer asked the JD rep if his machine could demonstate the machine's backhoe power and balance like that. He meekly answered, "No".

The customer signed an order for four new JCB machines!:D

I visited the JCB HQ when it was still in Maryland, to demo a 940 straight mast rough terrain forklift. I got talking with the resident tech trainer, and ,as he could tell I could turn a wrench, we had a real nice chat. I was very impressed with the company, and how they made their own axles, transmissions, and cylinders. Now they are even making their own engine. He showed us a video of one of their backhoe rodeos, now that was some impressive stuff!! It's very strange that North America is the only place where they are not a household name. We ended up deciding to get out of the building material business, so I didn't buy the machine, but I would readily buy their iron if the need arises.
