???? on PSD Flywheel????

Does anyone know if a John Deere 466T motor will bolt into a JD 5020. I know where a 5020 is that does not have a motor and would like to make a pull tractor out of it. I have seen a 6030 at the Nat. Farm Machinery show in KY before that had an 800HP 466T motor in it. The guy said that it all bolted right up. It all looked factory. If a 466 will bolt into a 6030, then it should bolt in a 5020 since both tractors have the same block.

6030

Why not find a JD 619 ci? They are a good engine and are capable of a lot of hp. They come with a good stock turbo (large frame charger) and a larger stock exhaust manifold that the 466. If weight is a consideration the d466 is a lighter engine though. If a 466 will bolt into a 5020 then it will definitly go into a 6030. Sounds like fun. What weight class are you intending to run?

If I go through with the idea, I will probably pull in a 14k class. 5020 from the factory weighs about 13,015lbs. If I could get a lighter motor in the frame, I could pull in a lighter class. I'm just running some wild ideas for now. I might do it one of these days. Do you know where I could get a 619 for a decent price? That is another reason I was going to use a smaller motor; less cost. Does the 619 use a P pump or a rotary pump?

Actually, around here in iowa you can pick up a 619 cheaper than a 466. The 466 was used in alot more applications, including row crop tractors. The 619 was pretty much used in larger wheatland or 4-wheel drive tractors. The 619 uses and in-line bosch inj. pump.

A fellow from Canada showed up at the Pahrump meet last month with a JD 466 in a 78 club cab dually.

I guess the 466 will fit almost anywhere--maybe even in a Neon

Somebody told me that back around the time Ford had the 6. 9 out in their pickups, John Deere offered a kit to install a 7. 6 liter Deere engine in the Ford pickups. Has anybody ever heard of this?
