My wife 05 Crd Liberty started making noise about three weeks ago. It has gotten louder every day. Noise sounds like a pair of roller skates with 5# of sand in the bearings. . The noise is only present under boost from the right side of the vech.

Yesterday on her way to work, hit the gas to cross the hwy and it would hardly move. She hit the shoulder to avoid getting t-boned. Hit the gas agin and it took off fine, but Lag is terrible now. .

Brought to dealer today, Low boost code. They tell me there in nothing wrong.

I replaced the air filter three weeks ago when the noise appeared, not that bad but Cheep to replace. Dealer says that dirty air filter caused low boost code.

What are the signs that a turbo is going south. I suspect the bearings are bad but don't know how to get dealer to check.

We had one in the shop a few weeks ago with a split intercooler hose. Intermittent low power and a low boost code. Have them check those.

A dirty air filter won't cause the noise you're describing.

However, the noise you're describing does sound like bearings going bad.
