Ok guys, this one is for current/past 2005/6 jeep liberty crd owners/mechanics. I was rooting around in my service manual and online with the approach of cold weather and found that i have a fuel filter heater on the Libby! Its just that THERES NO HARNESS CONNECTED! (guess I shoulda noticed when we bought it used?!) theres the bare receptacle on the filter manifold and nothing nearby THAT FITS IT... thats right, loomed with in with the labelled 'fuel temperature sensor' cable (connected) is a harness plug with color-coding that matches what should feed the heater circuit AND is powered when the heater should be BUT the plug is wrong and will not mate with the filter manifold connector. By chance am I missing an OEM adapter harness that would transition from one to the other (possibly a fusible link affair?). The service manual on CD is no help as it is skimpier than a french bikini! Could anyone maybe peak under the hood and see just how your heater receptacle (the drivers side of the paired forward facing connectors) is connected to the rest of the jeep? Any help greatly appreciated!

I just recently sold my 2006, but it had the connectors from the factory. IIRC there was a recall due to it causing fires or something; this may be why yours was clipped. Mopar sells the updated unit.

Best place to ask this is over at Lostjeeps in the CRD Love that Torque section. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=5

And look up Green Diesel Engineering... Keith helped make mine a get +4 MPG over stock and much more enjoyable to drive.

Thanks Roostre for the response. I contacted a local CJD dealership and luckily got info from their diesel guy. Apparently due to said recall my jeep had the fuel canister mount changed out, but the INCLUDED? Or recommended? updated harness plug (larger than original, hint hint) was never changed out! So I have the improved filter/heater assembly but w/o the proper connector to power the unit. They are getting me that install for $17. 00 but warned me it means cutting off the old plug and soldering on the new harness extension (no biggy, been soldering circuits since age 10). What puzzles me is the prior owner was not a wrench turner so she had someone or some garage do the work. Of course, no one is likely write on a repair order they did half the job. But it'll all be good by tomorrow!

Your input tells me my gut guess was right-thanks!
