Turbo for small IDI diesel?

Were is Industry going

Was at the local dealer last night looking over the Liberty a little closer and talking to the lot owner. He is expecting his diesel Liberty's to arrive on September 16th. Also drove a 300C with the Hemi. He talked me into it. Nice car and quick. I have no problem believing that it will run the 13. 9 in the 1/4 that the mags have published but Wife is admant about a diesel Liberty. The 300C I drove was $33,000. 00 which isn't bad at all for that kind of luxury and performance. A few bolt-on tuning changes and a 125hp hidden nitrous set-up would make a neat mid 12 second 4200 pound rice eater.

I wonder how the mileage will be on the diesel Liberty? My wife loves hers but can't figure out why my 3500 gets better fuel mileage. If it's decent we'll probably give them a year or two to work out the bugs then upgrades the wifes ride.

I did some snooping last night on some Euro websites where the Liberty is called a Cherokee. You have to convert from Litres to gallons and such but it looks like hwy mileage is around 30 mpg on average. Guy at the dealer last night heard that 35 mpg is possible on the hwy but I see they only rated it for 27 mpg. They already have performance stuff for them over there. The diesel is only a 1000. 00 option in Austr. but the sales guy last night is thinking closer to 2500. 00 or so for the diesel over here.
