Just what we need, another 500HP SUV to go back and forth to the store and pick up the kids from school. At least you can have some fun with the "rice rockets" in the process.

I dont think that we are really required to buy the JEEP/. It might not be for me, but I can appreciate how well it will sell to a select group of gearheads. Good job Chrysler. .

Wonder if would tow the boat?... The wifey is looking to trade, think I could slip this in as a good grocery getter?

If you have not driven, towed been around one of the more current Ram trucks you should give them a try. MUCH better than your 01.

If he don't like his '01 a newer one will not help. My '01 owes me nothing. If I someday get a newer one I will not get rid of it. My '91 is also a great pickup.

Don't get me wrong, I love my truck and don't plan on replacing it. However, Chrysler was really cheap on their components. Their dealers are the worst that I have ever seen. I have replaced the entire front end in my truck twice (going to Moog and even had that fail). Plastic parts keep breaking and electrical issues keep arising. The HP and Torque numbers on the new Dodge's are impressive; however, firing an injector multiple times (up to five injection events per power stroke) really degrade the overall reliability and longevity. Simplicity is better. Maybe I need a 12V.

Or a Chevy gasser??

Now I am going to eat my own words. I've been doing a bit of travelling this year and have started renting the Dodge Challenger (need a big car for my equipment and Mercedes was too pricey for my company ;)). I have been pretty impressed with this vehicle with the exception of the rental company's choice of engines. If I was going to get one for myself, I would only consider the SRT8. Might have to re-explore that launch button.
