MCummings - I realize that all ETH's come w/ the DEE and that in the first few years the DEE was offerd w/ the ETC as an option before the ETH made its entrance; but here is my question-- Could you order a DEE with a ETC in 2001 and 2002 or was it only for the ETH's in those years ? TIA , Thomas

Well, I think you could get them only in the early 24V's, and it was a RARE option. My truck didn't come with a 6-speed, but the little 5-speed had too much of life behind a 450HP Cummins and trying to tug 25,000 pounds around. (input shaft shipped a tooth and she locked up tight)

Luckily for me, a rebuilt 6-speed was only a few hundred dollars more than a new 5-speed.

The difference between the 5-speed and 6-speed is amazing, there is actually a gear for almost any speed, and any load.

So, No, the 6-speed was only an option early in the 24V production, and now the 6-speed is only offered with High Output motors.

Hope this helps,

Merrick Cummings Jr
