I see by your sig, that your 03 is similar to mine, and I was thinking of upgrading my injectors. I see you sent yours to F1 . How big did you go? Any difference in fuel mileage? Any exhaust temp problems with the new injectors? Do you wish you had done it sooner? Do you have the HO eng? inquiring minds like mine wanna know:D TIA:)

I waited for the first sign of trouble to pull my injectors ... ... ..... which ended up being a corroded connector at ~280,000 miles. But, yeah, I wish I had done it sooner.

I tow 90% of the time and after 3 different boxes I don't run anything but my Flux 1's now, not that I won't again, but I just haven't since I sold my Quad due to radio interference. The first thing that I noticed was how smooth, quiet and balanced it idled. Fuel mileage? I've been around here long enough to be very skeptical anything that promises 5% or more gain ... ... . except a lighter right foot.

Another thing that I noticed about the Flux 1's was how smooth the power was by retaining the stock fuel curve. I couldn't really tell they were there until I started pulling the same loads up similar grades.

I hope I answered your questions ... ... ... ...

The reason I was asking is because I have lost approx 1-1&1/2 mpg over the last couple of years. I also tow 98% of the time. I was kind of hoping to hear that you had maybe picked up some mileage when you got your F1s. I am assuming that injectors get tired , just the same as anything else. But, there are a whole host of other things that could be the problem as well. Such as the pressure relief valve, CP3, etc. etc. Where does a person start?

Thanks for the reply

Hey Jeff you need to get a Smarty! Mileage is up 1 to 2 mpg. {hand calc. } loaded or unloaded on my 06' with a Smarty Jr. .

To help us establish a base line, could you tell us how many miles you had on the 06 when you installed the Smarty Jr. ? How many do you have on it now? Thanks , B

Don't forget the effects of the Ultra Low Sulphur messing with mileage. Don't know if you are taking that into account or not... . it sure has lowered my mileage by about that 1+ per gallon. ;)

I had considered that. Was hoping I might be able to get it back, (the mileage). Probably grasping at straws. Hoping for a miracle I suppose.

hey guys I do offer a full money back guarantee for those of you that log some miles in a month or two.

Let me know.

i know its alittle off topic but i did also gain fuel mileage with my smarty. but i do agree that the USLD has proven to get less fuel mileage with or without the smarty.

My mileage went up last summer for some unexplained reason. . Only difference was the presence of ULSD. Towing mileage went up a solid 0. 5mpg.

I don't know for sure it is the ULSD, but nothing else changed. Maybe my truck finally got broke in at 160K...

Back to the original topic. I have about 201K on my injectors and my mileage hasn't dropped at all since new. I'd still like a new set just to see/feel/hear the benefits that everybody talks about.

My truck is very sensative to ULSD and also to winter fuel. I'm down a good 1. 0-1. 2 from where I was a year or so ago.

I'm pulling my injectors again this summer, and getting a Smarty. I'll be @ 410,000 or 420,000 miles by then.

This is true!

Bob, I am taking the opportunity to thank you up front, for your help in solving my injector issue.

THANK YOU!

f1's, even the nontraditional ones, ROCK!

Jess

barbwire, mpg is the same so far, engine idles much smoother, this is cool. The power increase is noticable down low, this is fun!!!

I bought my Smarty a couple of weeks ago and the performance increase is well worth the money. I have an 04 so Cali truck. It is hard to gauge the mileage increase so far, but no decrease is noticeable.
