Hey All-- New Guy, Here..

Jeep Wrangler dash removal

I just found out today that I may be out of a job in 90 days. Company is in Chapter 11 now. Anyone know of any good/decent IT jobs in the Northwestern US? Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming etc...

Whining rant over.

Thanks,

Mark.

Job Search

mberry ,

Sorry to hear about the job. Hopefully the search is going well.

Just remeber, 1 door closed is another opened. Never know, maybe you will find a job you enjoy more and that pays better.

You might take a peek at the DICE board.

I went from 2-3 unsolicited job offers a month to 60+ calls a week once I posted my resume. Lots of contract stuff, but some decent full time positions as well. Searchable by region and skill set. Hope this helps.

I sure hope you're right Eric. That would be great. There aren't many good paying jobs here for what I do. I got lucky with this job in the beginning but after 6+ years and no raise in almost 3 it may be a blessing in disguise.

Thanks! I checked it out tonight and sent off what feels like a billion resume's. We'll see what happens.

Thanks tpuig, I also checked out Dice and will be applying for several positions. I am a power plant operator, with mechanical, electrical and I&C experience, prefer gas turbines but also have IC engine experience, looking to get out of CA. Sorry to hijack this thread but I figured it wouldn't hurt to put my info out there. Thanks. John

Get out of Cali and go where? I've been in the power plant industry for a number of years and have quite a few contacts in the business all over the country.

Hey Turbo Tim, Honestly I really don't care where. I'm trying to go somewhere I can go from a 2 income family to a 1 income family and, with a low cost of living, maintain the same lifestyle. I want my wife to be a stay at home mom, my daughter (6) is picking up way too many bad habits at daycare, Boys & Girls club, etc. . I thought I had a job in Houston, interviewed with 4 different people, all said they were going to recommend me, position was filled internally. It's pretty cheap there. 4 seasons would be nice, snow doesn't bother me, I hate the rain (that's why I moved here from Wa State), don't like 120* days very much either. I would appreciate any help you can give me. John
