This will be the hardest entry that I will have to make in my honey's journal. Joe has made the decision that he wants to go someplace where he can go faster than all the other B/Econo dragster and win a national and divisional event. We are going to be following his directives in his living will.

We will inform you in this journal "When they call competition eliminator to the starting line for his last past down the track on earth. "

God bless all of you for your prayers and support for our family.

Just a short time ago God called Competition Eliminator to the staging lanes for Joe to make his final pass.

Rest in Peace

Joe Angelo “Super Wop”, 63, of Zimmerman, MN, died on May 12, 2005 due to injuries suffered following a tragic accident in Dallas, Texas. His accident occurred while following his dream of drag racing. Joe put up a good fight until the Lord called upon him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Angelo. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rosie; children Tony (Tracy) Angelo, Terri (Bob) Bostrom, Michelle (Kevin) Angelo, and Missy (Bob) LaSusa; grandchildren Taylor and Tanner Angelo, Wyatt and Mason Bostrom, and Isabella LaSusa. He is also survived by his mother, Rose Angelo, sisters Mary Jo (Robert) Diaz, Janice (Raymond) Culliton, many nieces and nephews and everyone whose life he touched.

Everyone that knew Joe knew what a passionate man he was. Some of his many passions included drag racing, teaching, hearing his own voice (talking) and life in general. He loved his morning coffee with Rosie and the many breaks they took during the day. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Find comfort knowing he will be watching over us all from Heaven. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Visitation will be on May 20, 2005 from 12:30pm to 2pm at St. Pius Catholic Church in Zimmerman, MN. The funeral mass will be at 2pm; lunch will immediately follow mass.

Per Joe’s wishes, there will be a celebration of his life at 7pm at the Elk River Country Club.
