I have been following the discussions concerning trans. oil for the NV5600. I use this fluid in my tractor transmission. Any thoughts as to whether this might be a suitable lubricant for our NV5600's? Just a thought.

Dont know much about Green Machines

But International Harvester Hy-Tran is used in hydrostatic big tractor transmissions as well as the gear drive units. If anything was ever sensitive to gear oils, its an International. Hy-Tran is expensive and highly engineered as I'm sure Hy-Guard is, but the chemists had one thing in mind and that was John Deere gearboxes. As far as using it in truck trannys, I know several who do, but they are older 4spds and the like. But these guys probably use it on their pancakes too. The NV5600 seems pretty specific as to what it needs. I'd tend to think anything other than synthetic motor oil as specified would be gambling for no real reason. At least what I've seen, it sure cant be any cheaper.
